Client: Fat Buddha
Location: Belfast
In the heart of Belfast’s trendy Lisburn Road stands a 4-ton stone Fat Buddha- immediately paving the way for the “Asian Fusion” that waits within.
Red, green and blue lighting, Buddha beads, Japanese pond- complete with orchids, bamboo and koi carp fish, signifies the arrival of Northern Ireland’s first Japanese robatayaki grill.
Winner of Theme magazine’s Best Interior Design in Ireland- this is yet another great collaboration between Soon Interiors, Eddie Fung and McCue.
From effective stone carpet, reflecting a “free-flowing feeling of spaciousness,” stainless steel, scroll set mezzanine cocktail bar, Lotus flower décor, to the extensive use of Iroko in furniture and detailing, Fat Buddha exemplifies “ a mix of modern international and hints of Asian tradition.”
Completed in just 3 months, Fat Buddha’s fresh, opulent and distinctive interior definitely lives up to the Buddha’s symbolism of luck, prosperity, happiness and generosity. |
